Good afternoon!
Celeb/gossip social media page Deuxmoi has released its latest “nicest celebrities” list – a roundup of anonymous anecdotes about the friendliest faces in Hollywood, shared with Deuxmoi’s 2.3 million followers.
Aussies Margot Robbie and Keith Urban received glowing endorsements, while other obvious picks included Daniel Radcliffe (who apparently “says hi to dogs” and is “friends with the baristas”), Tom Holland and Zendaya, Travis Kelce, and Cynthia Erivo.
Perhaps more surprisingly, Paris Hilton, Timmy Chalamet, Bill Murray, Meghan Trainor, and Machine Gun Kelly (“reserved and humble”) also made the cut.
All of that being said, any gossip page should be taken with a grain of salt. Think of Deuxmoi as an excitable toddler on Christmas morning. Maybe they really did see flying reindeer unicorns pulling Santa’s sleigh through the night sky, or maybe it was a Jetstar Airbus A320.

“I think I had the longest unbroken awkward phase in Hollywood. Actually, I think mine extended until my late 30s.”
Anne Hathaway has been named People Magazine’s “World’s Most Beautiful Cover Star” for 2026. In an accompanying interview about life as an objectively gorgeous person, the 43-year-old said she went through an ‘awkward phase’ that lasted “for decades”. The entire human race reportedly described the comment as, “hard to believe”.

Mike Myers paid tribute to Eddie Murphy – the Donkey to his Shrek – at a ceremony in LA this week, where Murphy received a lifetime achievement award from the American Film Institute. Myers gave a speech in full Shrek makeup, telling the audience: “None of Shrek's success could have happened without Eddie Murphy… Donkey is a masterpiece, as is every character that Eddie has created over the years.” The pair celebrated the accolade the following morning by making waffles.*

The group chat TL;DR
A cameo featuring Sydney Sweeney has been cut from The Devil Wears Prada 2, ahead of its global release next week. The Euphoria actor was spotted on the set of the sequel in New York last year, where she filmed a short scene with Emily Blunt (who returns as the iconic character Emily Charlton, a stylist now working at Dior). According to reporting by Entertainment Weekly, Sweeney was featured as one of Emily’s celebrity clients, but the three-minute sequence will never see the light of day. EW’s report said it was a “creative decision” to remove her from the film, because the scene didn’t work structurally. The update means Sweeney’s DWP2 screen time remains tied with Emma Gillespie (on zero seconds).

Ticketmaster says it’s identified several scalpers (people who buy tickets to resell them at a higher price) for Harry Styles’ Together Together tour. The platform is the official ticket handler of Styles’ upcoming residency at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York. The British singer will perform 30 consecutive shows at MSG from 26 August. A statement from Ticketmaster’s Global President Saumil Mehta said: “We caught scalpers using multiple accounts and fake identities to try and get around ticket limits and resell tickets for profit.” Those tickets have now been cancelled and the company is working with Styles’ team to sell the additional seats back to fans at face value. “It's important for these tickets to go to real fans,” Mehta said. Styles will bring his global tour to Australia later in the year, with shows in Melbourne and Sydney this November/December.

A K-pop mogul credited with creating global supergroup BTS is facing possible arrest over alleged illegal trading on the South Korean stock market. South Korean police are seeking an arrest warrant for Bang Si-hyuk, the chair of K-pop agency Hybe, who is accused of misleading investors around the timing of Hybe’s stock market debut. According to investigators, Bang told investors the company had no plans to go public in 2019, just months before the agency was listed on the South Korean stock exchange in 2020. Police claim the fraudulent scheme netted him around 190 billion won ($A180 million) in illicit gains, which carries a sentence of anywhere between five years and life in prison in South Korea. Bang has consistently denied any wrongdoing, and his legal team said he will “co-operate with all legal procedures.” Bang’s passport has been confiscated and some of his assets have been frozen as investigations continue.

The 1D Netflix series that was over before it began
One Direction’s reunion series has gone in the wrong direction...
Former 1D bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik were filming a new Netflix series together, when they reportedly got into a physical fight.
Louis has since unfollowed Zayn on Instagram and the series has been cancelled.
Here’s what we know about this bizarre turn of (alleged) events.
Netflix show
Louis and Zayn had begun filming a three-part Netflix docuseries following the pair as they road-trip across the U.S. together.
The former bandmates fell out after Zayn left One Direction in 2015. However, a press release said Louis and Zayn open up about their rekindled friendship on the show, as well as the 2024 loss of bandmate Liam Payne, and fatherhood.
Nicola Marsh – who co-directed the 2024 documentary Child Star alongside Demi Lovato – had signed on to direct the series, which was expected to be released later this year.
Fight
British tabloid The Sun reports that during filming, Zayn made an offensive comment about Louis’ mum, who died from leukaemia in 2016.
An anonymous source told The Sun: “Zayn started acting up and was mouthing off”.
Following the comments, Zayn is reported to have punched Louis.
The source said: “Louis was stunned and in shock. Zayn was wearing rings so it cut his head.”
“He was pulled away and Louis was taken for medical treatment. He was left with a concussion. This happened outside in front of so many people. It was shocking.”
Neither Louis, Zayn nor Netflix have publicly commented yet.

The defamation suit against Rebel Wilson, explained.
It was supposed to be a feel-good story: a beloved Australian actor makes her directorial debut with a musical comedy about outback teens attending a debutante ball.
Instead, The Deb has become one of the messiest legal sagas in recent Australian entertainment history – and this week, it finally arrived in court.
At the heart of this case are two key questions: did Rebel Wilson publicly accuse a young actor of being sexually harassed when she had no basis to do so? Or did that young actor complain to Wilson, then change her story?
Confused? Don’t worry, so was most of TDA’s audience the first time we reported on this case last year.
So who's suing who, and what's it all about?
The players
Before we get into the case itself, you need to know who is involved:
Rebel Wilson: the Aussie actress best known internationally for hits including the Pitch Perfect trilogy and Bridesmaids. The Deb marks her directorial debut. In this case, she is the defendant, accused of defaming one of the film's lead actors through a series of Instagram posts.
Charlotte MacInnes: a 26-year-old West Australian singer and actor who plays a leading role in The Deb, one of her first major screen credits. MacInnes is bringing this case, arguing that her professional reputation was seriously damaged when Wilson publicly identified her as a victim of sexual harassment, without her knowledge or consent.
Amanda Ghost: a British music producer and executive, perhaps best known as a co-writer on James Blunt's You're Beautiful. She worked as one of the producers on The Deb. Ghost is not a party to this particular case, but she is central to it: Wilson's allegations about Ghost's conduct toward MacInnes are what sparked the entire dispute. Ghost denies any wrongdoing.
The incident
On 5 September 2023, Ghost became unwell after a swim at Bondi Beach. MacInnes helped her back to a nearby apartment, where the two warmed up by bathing together in their swimsuits.
Both agree the incident happened. What they disagree on is what was said about it afterwards.
Wilson claims MacInnes came to her to tell her the bath incident made her uncomfortable. In July 2024, with the film's Toronto premiere looming, Wilson posted a video to her 11 million Instagram followers accusing the film's producers of "inappropriate behaviour towards the lead actress."
MacInnes immediately and publicly rejected the claims, saying no such complaint had ever been made.
The lawsuit
MacInnes is now suing Wilson for defamation in the Federal Court. Her argument is that Wilson publicly identified her as a victim of sexual harassment, destroying her professional reputation before she could even benefit from her first lead film role.
MacInnes is suing over four Instagram posts in total, including one from September 2024 in which Wilson claimed MacInnes had "changed her story" after Ghost cast her in a stage production of The Great Gatsby and gave her a record deal.
Under Australian law, defamation is when published material damages someone's reputation. It's a civil matter, which means no jail time, just financial penalties. Wilson's defence is essentially the truth defence: that what she posted was accurate, and that she was acting in good faith.
The nine-day trial opened on Monday in Sydney and is being live-streamed on YouTube.
The trial so far
On day one of the trial, MacInnes' barrister Sue Chrysanthou told the court Wilson was a "bully" who raised concerns about MacInnes not to protect her, but as "leverage" in a separate dispute with producers over the film's budget and contracts.
The dispute between Wilson and the producers is said to stem in part from her being denied a writing credit on the film she directed.
The court also heard Wilson allegedly took out a defamation insurance policy in March 2024, so she could "go ballistic" about Ghost online, according to Chrysanthou.
It was further alleged that a crisis PR firm created websites attacking Ghost and MacInnes, including one that compared Ghost to convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. MacInnes' legal team alleged Wilson ordered the firm, The Agency Group, to publish the sites.
Wilson denies the allegations. Her senior counsel told the court the case ultimately comes down to one question: did MacInnes tell Wilson she felt uncomfortable, or didn't she?
Other battles
This case is actually one of three active legal battles tied to The Deb, playing out across the globe.
The film's producers have sued Wilson for defamation in California, and a UK production company has accused her of blocking the film's release.
How are those cases going? Well, that’s a story for another day.
Following its 2024 film festival premiere, legal issues delayed the release of The Deb for nearly two years. It was finally released in Australia this month, meaning you can watch it in cinemas now.

Recommendation of the week
Emma wants you to watch Ponies on Binge.
“This Cold War spy thriller has been on my list since it was released in January. I finally got around to watching it over the weekend, and now I can’t stop raving about it. Set in 1977 Moscow, Ponies follows Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Hayley Lu Richardson (The White Lotus) as two unlikely CIA operatives working together to unravel a major conspiracy. Amazing cast, killer soundtrack, and some incredible 70s fashion moments too. A must-watch! All eight episodes of Ponies are now streaming on Binge.”
